What is depression?

Depression is more than just feeling unhappy or sad over a few days, it is a mental health condition that affects more than 264 million people of all ages globally. It demonstrates itself with lasting feelings of unhappiness and hopelessness, losing interest in the things you used to enjoy and care for. It is a complicated illness with many different symptoms and causes. Depression has an impact on our mind, body, and behaviour.

Counselling for Depression

Working alongside a therapist is an effective way in treating mild to moderate depression and is often combined with medication in more severe cases, which is known as clinical depression.

Understanding depression and its triggers can be helpful for sufferers trying to manage and improve the condition. Working with a therapist has been shown to help depression and help improve low self-esteem, or relationship issues or persistent negative thinking.

Counselling Face to Face and Online

Talking therapies such as behavioural therapy, schema therapy, mindfulness and interpersonal therapy are all recommended by the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE). Several other therapies are also available, and our therapist will discuss with clients what model is best for them. Therapist are qualified to work both online and face to face to help improve our clients mental health.
