Introduction

I am an Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist and have been a registered member of the BACP since qualifying in 2016. Through my work with clients, I have been able to witness the capacity for collaborative therapeutic relationships to help shift perspectives and facilitate change.
With an educational background in philosophy and art & design, I studied for a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy which I completed in 2016. I then went on to complete a Masters degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy, focusing on the affects of interpersonal trauma on both individuals, families and generations.
Much of my work as a counsellor has been within organisations that support those who have experienced interpersonal trauma and abuse.

As a therapist, my primary focus is on creating a safe, non-judgemental, collaborative space, which allows room to be playful and the potential to use creative processes.
From this place, it can be possible for you to explore your (internal) relationship with your Self and to explore how you experience your relationships with others.
I also recognise that each of us has a unique narrative and life experiences; our sessions would be focused on what is meaningful for you and what you choose to bring.

As an Integrative therapist, my professional training combined Humanistic, Gestalt and Psychodynamic approaches. This allows me to draw upon a range of approaches to help you make sense of your difficulties and any ‘stuckness’ you may experience.
I may encourage you to reflect on your capacity for self-compassion (Compassion Focused Therapy) and explore what this means for you. I may also be curious about your awareness of different ‘parts’ or aspects of yourself (Internal Family Systems)
More recently, I have completed a Certificate in Integrative Embodied Psychotherapy; with this approach I may guide you towards tuning into bodily sensations and reflecting on what you might learn about where/how you experience your emotions.
