Rachel Morse

Introduction

Rachel qualified as an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor in 2015 and is a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She went on to gain a Masters Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy, focusing on research into the affects of trauma. Rachel’s approach to therapy is informed by humanistic/person-centred, psychodynamic and gestalt models; she also uses aspects of CBT and schema therapy when working with clients. At the core of Rachel’s approach to therapeutic work is the creation of a non-judgemental, collaborative and safe space in which to explore the client’s hopes and needs. This process can take different forms Rachel is happy to explore creative processes – using art materials or the written word, for example – as well as ‘talking therapy’.

For the last few years Rachel has been working with clients who have experienced trauma – interpersonal trauma, sexual abuse and complex trauma – and recognises the importance of working safely with these issues. Through this work, she has become aware of the importance of attachment issues – the kinds of connections we have to parents and family – and this also informs her approach to therapy.

Rachel also has experience of working with issues such as anxiety & depression, fertility issues, grief & loss, postnatal depression, relationship issues and social anxiety. She will also work with bullying, chronic fatigue syndrome/ME, emotional dysregulation, health issues, low self esteem, miscarriage, infant loss, OCD, panic disorder, personality disorder, PTSD, rape and sexual assault, self harm, sex addiction, sexuality (LGBTQ+), stress and gender identity.
