Kyle James

Introduction

I’m a Trainee Counselling Psychologist at the University of South Wales. I offer face to face therapy to adults using a humanistic and relational approach. This approach is about free will, self-discovery and achieving your full potential. It looks at everything that makes you who you are and focuses on you as a unique individual and your relationship with the world around you. Therapy is led by you and what difficulties you wish to explore, helping you to think about your feelings and take responsibility for your thoughts and actions.

Seeking support is often a daunting and vulnerable experience. I offer a safe, warm, calm, judgement free, and friendly space to work through difficulties that may be limiting your life, whether that be your happiness, work, or relationships etc.

By qualification, I am a qualified and practising Psychotherapist, previously completing a BSc Psychology degree, Certificate in Counselling Skills and Diploma in CBT therapy. I have many years of experience working within helping roles in the charity sector, NHS, and private healthcare.

As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and someone living with a learning disability, I have a particular interest in supporting those within oppressed communities. As someone who has experienced discrimination and MH issues, I understand what it’s like to live in a world that stigmatises and doesn’t recognise our differences. This can be a lonely place.

Thank you for your time, I wish you all the best in your therapy journey.
