I am a BACP Accredited counselor, trainer and supervisor with 20 years of experience of helping adults and young people make sense of life’s challenges. I have worked as a therapist in the NHS, in the third sector and in private practice. I am an integrative practitioner which means I am trained in a range of approaches including CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy and humanistic counseling. I also have additional training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy which uses mindfulness and emotional regulation to help people develop ways of coping with overwhelming feelings and reduce harmful behaviours.
I offer a warm, collaborative approach, working with kindness to help people reflect on their lives and make the changes they want and need. I am experienced in working with trauma, difficult childhood experiences, substance misuse, depression, anxiety, grief and loss and managing times of transition.
I believe that supervision is a vital aspect of self-care and professional practice for all who work in the helping professions. I have a Masters in Consultative Supervision and am experienced at working with therapists and other frontline staff. I offer group and individual supervision, creating a space for supervisees to reflect on their work, build their resilience and reduce/prevent feelings of isolation and burnout that can arise, especially in these extraordinary times we are currently living and working in.
