I am Sorayya Sainsbury and I am a Behaviour Analyst and Therapist. I endeavour to maximise an individual’s potential for a rich, full and meaningful life; through mindful values-based living.
I hold a BSc degree in Psychology and MSc degree in Behaviour Analysis and Therapy. I have also completed 1500 hours of supervised practice through the University of South Wales and independent fieldwork. I am registered with the BACB and am a member of the UK-SBA.
I have experience working with individuals who experience depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, as well as, complex mental illness. I specialise in the use of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and the principles of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Through assessment, I can identify emotional and behavioural challenges. Then I develop a support plan and with your consent we can start working towards your goals. All plans are individualised to you and are based on a wealth of research pertaining to their effectiveness. Plans are also regularly reviewed to ensure your needs are being met and that you are receiving the best therapy for you.
Whether you come to me because of work stress, social anxiety, past trauma, depression or problematic behaviour; I will draw from a range of therapies to help you overcome any obstacles that stand in the way of you being the person you want to be. This can take time and effort and you may feel uncomfortable stepping out of your comfort zone. This can contribute to your development and growth. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore any difficulties you are experiencing.
