I am a qualified counsellor with a BSC (hons) in Counselling which I achieved at the University of Glamorgan in 2012. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Sometimes in life we encounter struggles that are difficult to work through and we need just that little bit more support to make sense of our feelings. Counselling with a caring, non-judgemental, supportive therapist can be an effective way of making sense of these confusing feelings. Together we can explore these issues whether big or small.
Prior to being a counsellor, I worked as a registered learning disability nurse within hospital and community settings for over 20 years. I am an integrative therapist with a humanistic approach, I have an interest in working systemically and help you explore your relationships with others when appropriate. I draw on different approaches depending on the need of the client or different problem areas brought to counselling.
I am a Welsh speaker and am happy to counsel in both Welsh and English. I have experience in working with anxiety, bereavement, loss, low self-esteem, trauma, anger, illness, stress, depression, family and relationship issues, Autistic spectrum disorders and Learning disabilities. I am interested in mindfulness and relaxation techniques and find that these can be effective strategies to use in therapy should you wish to explore these further.
