My name is Natasha and thank you in advance for taking the time to read my profile. I am an integrative psychotherapist here at Talk In The Bay. My training has included a BSc Hons Psychology and Counselling, Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling Skills, a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling, a Masters in Integrative Counselling and Advanced Specialist Training qualification in Counselling Children and Young People (Level 5).
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and am currently undertaking my accreditation. I am also ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) trained. I incorporate a flexible blend of Person-Centred, Humanistic, Relational Psychodynamics, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Gestalt approaches in my work, as well as visual and creative methods tailored to each individual’s way of expression and meaning-making.
I work to create a tailor-made approach to each of my clients, endeavouring to discover their therapeutic language and work in a custom framework depending on the client’s individuality and needs. I work with a variety of issues including but not limited to: sexual health and abuse, depression, anxiety, anger issues, abuse, family and relationship issues, suicide, long term illness and coming to terms with diagnosis, substance misuse/abuse, childhood trauma, sexual health, gender and sexual identity/health, eating issues. I have a special interest and further training and experience in: anxiety, bereavement, self-harm and self-esteem.
I endeavour to be empathetic, understanding, open-minded, non-judgemental and honest with my clients. I strive to provide people with a gentle, warm, friendly and relaxed environment, where they can feel safe to talk, open up and be vulnerable. I pride myself on valuing people’s independence, autonomy and individuality, delivering the real essence of myself as a human being and try to offer a sense of being down-to-earth, consistent and genuinely approachable and relatable, to allow my clients to feel they are not alone and feel valued in their quirks and uniqueness. I work to promote change and help my clients find understanding, acceptance and equip them with the tools they need to make positive changes that will enhance their wellbeing, build self-esteem and a way to love themselves for exactly who they are as a person, as they deserve to be.
I strive to motivate and challenge my clients to be the best they can be for themselves and become self-aware, self-loving and to encourage self-care. I want to walk alongside people in their journey of exploration, self-discovery, self-reflection and help them to feel heard, understood and supported, no matter how hard things get.
