Louise is a qualified and experienced Counsellor offering one to one counselling. Louise is qualified to work with children, young people and adults. Louise has a Master’s Degree in Counselling Children and Young People, a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People, an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a BA (Hon) in Education and Drama.
Louise has worked with a variety of issues such as: anxiety, depression, abuse, sexuality, gender identity and eating disorders. However, Louise has special interest and experience of working with self-harm, suicidal ideation and substance misuse. Louise uses an integrative approach to client centred work, ensuring that the client is at the centre of the counselling sessions. Drawing on a variety of therapeutic approaches that aim to suit the needs of the individual, Louise’s aim is to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment to assist others in exploring their issues.
Louise has experience of working as a counsellor within a variety of settings. This has included work within the education sector, both mainstream and alternative education providers. Louise has also worked within the 3rd sector which includes a variety of organisations such as mental health charities, substance misuse organisations and self-harm services. Previous work includes HM Prison service and project managing psycho-social intervention programmes for young people and adults who misuse substances. Louise continues to work within education, 3rd sector services and private practice where she sees clients for a variety of presenting issues.
Louise is a registered member (MBACP) of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and adheres to their code of ethics and complaints procedure.
