Introduction

I am a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, (C.B.T), and have extensive experience, having worked as a counsellor for the last 12 years. C.B.T offers you the opportunity to explore the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and challenge unhelpful behaviours and thinking patterns that affect your mood. When you engage in face to face therapy you will have the opportunity to explore the issues which you feel are stopping you from leading the life you want to. Counselling is not about giving advice but about working together to help you find solutions.

I spent a number of years working for a charity dedicated to helping adult survivors of rape and sexual abuse. I have experience of working with depression, anxiety, stress, work and relationship issues, abuse, eating disorders, OCD, self-harm and low self-esteem.

I am currently working towards qualifying as a Schema Therapist, this approach allows you to explore how early life experiences and trauma can impact on your day to day life as an adult. By recognising patterns of thoughts and behaviours, understand the origins of maladaptive coping styles, we can work together towards change. Schema Therapy require a longer term commitment to therapy sessions.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), and am bound by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I also hold full professional liability insurance.
