Platforms used for Couples Online Therapy
Today there are many different platforms to enable individual therapy to take place.
Your therapist or counsellor and you should have a provision for a quiet, private space to allow regular sessions to take place. You will usually be sent a link to click on enabling you to enter the virtual room with the client. One of the most popular platforms today is zoom. Zoom offers a simple quick and easy way to meet online whereby your counsellor will send you a zoom link embedded in your appointment confirmation. Once you click on the link at your assigned time you will arrive in the virtual room with your therapist. Other platforms which may be used include skype or vsee.
Talking over the telephone is still a popular way of meeting with your therapist.

Some Couples hesitated coming for counselling when problems start to appear for fear that ‘attending counselling’ confirms something is wrong. It takes courage to admit to problems. Couples rarely come to work on their relationship ‘ too early’, but often leave it until the relationship is at a crisis point. The sooner you come, the better the chances are of repairing the difficulties that have arisen.
Our job, as therapist, is to facilitate you to come to a decision and help you find the healthiest way forward.
This could be by helping you to start re-building your relationship with a better understanding of each other’s needs and/or by developing healthier coping strategies to deal with the problems or difficulties, which may have arisen during the course of the relationship.
It may be that in some situations if the future does not feel bearable, a decision is made to end the relationship. Should this be the healthier outcome we will be there to help you cope with the pain that this may result in and assist you to develop strategies to move on.
