Individual Therapy means meeting with your therapist on a one-on-one basis. Today there are many different platforms to enable individual therapy to take place.
Many therapists today integrate different therapy styles such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychoanalysis and/or person-centred therapy. However, some therapists work in a more purist way only utilising one form of therapy such as CBT, Schema Therapy or DBT (Dialectic Behaviour Therapy). See below for a more extensive list of different types of therapy.

- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): explores your thoughts and emotions and how these impact on your behaviour
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): Explore opposing positions and how these can co-exist
- Drama Therapy: using drama and music to understand and communicate difficult emotions
- Humanistic Therapy: Focuses on the mind, body, spirit and soul of the individual
- Mindfulness Based Therapy: becoming aware of your thoughts and feelings and learning to live in the present
- Person Centred Therapy: Focus on the self and your strengths and how you can transfer these into personal growth
- Solution Focussed Therapy: Focuses on what you want to achieve in the future
- EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing): EMDR is a specialist, integrative model that
includes CBT, hypnosis and neurobiological mechanisms to trauma.
It is important to note that you do not have to know what therapy might be best suited to you before your first session.
