I am a qualified counsellor and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of South Wales. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP).
As a qualified counsellor I am trained to help you explore your thoughts and feelings and the effect they are having on your behaviour and mood. My approach is to work with you in a collaborative way, helping you to explore where your feelings and ideas are coming from and why they are there. This process often helps to identify patterns of thought or behaviour which it might be helpful to modify, bringing about positive change that fosters improved self confidence and overall family and personal well being.
My overall aim is to build a trusting, compassionate and confidential relationship with you, helping you to determine what is important in your life, what you want to achieve and what steps you can take to get there. I will endeavour to create an environment which makes it easier for you to talk through and reflect upon your private thoughts and feelings which may be worrying or distressing you.
Drawing on my experience, I am able to provide support across a wide range of issues including work related stress, depression, anxiety, low self esteem, relational issues, abuse and sexuality.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I held a variety of training and management roles in both the public and private sector enabling me to bring beneficial experience when developing relationships with corporate clients and their employees.
