I believe you have the inner resources to help you deal with difficult situations. Therapy can help you access those resources to find a solution to your current situation.
I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor, so I can call on skills from a number of disciplines, including CBT and psychodynamic theory. However, my passion is schema therapy, in which I have completed my training and am now working towards accreditation. I am a member of the International Society of Schema Therapists.
This therapy helps us identify and change our schemas (patterns) where they are not working in our best interests. It also helps us to see feelings, thoughts and behaviours that we might have become stuck in.
One of my specialities is counselling clients who have experienced sexual abuse and rape, helping them deal with the debilitating trauma, depression and anxieties that can result. I also counsel clients who have been through other types of trauma and may be suffering from PTSD.
I have also introduced CBTi (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Insomnia) sessions, based on a programme devised in the US and backed by a substantial body of research, to the practice. Please ring for further details.
We will work collaboratively in a confidential, non-judgemental setting, to help you– an amazing and unique person – to take the next steps on your life’s journey.
‘When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves’ – Viktor Frankl.
