I believe you have the inner resources to help you deal with difficult situations. Therapy can help you access those resources to find a solution to your current situation.
I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor, so I can call on skills from a number of disciplines. Other therapeutic influences include mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment approaches.
Increasingly I have been using schema therapy techniques, which help us identify and, where helpful, change, the schemas (patterns) that we may have evolved and which can unconsciously steer what we do – not always in our best interests.
One of my specialities is counselling clients who have experienced sexual abuse and rape, helping them deal with the debilitating trauma, depression and anxieties that can result.
I am also introducing CBTI (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Insomnia) sessions, based on a programme devised in the US and backed by a substantial body of research, to the practice this year. Please ring for further details.
We will work collaboratively in a confidential, non-judgemental setting, to help you – an amazing and unique person – to the next steps on your life’s journey.
‘When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves’ – Viktor Frankl.
