Mandy is a BACP accredited Counsellor, UK registered independent Practitioner and a Certified Schema Therapist. She practices primarily from a CBT and Schema Therapy perspective introducing mindfulness into most sessions.
She works with both couples and individuals and has extensive experience in helping her clients overcome anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), work-place difficulties, depression, traumas and abuse from both childhood and adulthood, as well as relationship difficulties for which she has completed specialised training.
In addition to starting the highly successful practice Talk in the Bay in 2008, Mandy has worked in agencies including the NHS and a Trauma Agency where she was responsible for the supervision of a large team of counsellors. Prior to embarking on a career in psychotherapy, Mandy worked for 19 years in an Investment Bank in South Africa, where she established and managed a regional sales and marketing team. Mandy is able to draw on this experience when working with corporate clients.
Mandy has an under-graduate degree in Psychology & Sociology from UNISA, a Post Graduate Masters Degree in Counselling (CBT) as well as a Diploma in Consultative Supervision both from the University of Wales and is a Certified Schema Therapist (ISST).
