I am a qualified counsellor with a Postgraduate Degree in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy from the University of Wales, Newport (2007) and I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP). I received my accreditation in 2012.
I recognise that at different times in our lives we experience stressful and difficult emotions that change the balance of our lives. I offer a space to explore these and place the therapeutic relationship at the centre of my work. I believe in being empathic, non-judgemental and creating a space for change. I use different approaches depending on the needs of each client, including a person centred approach placing your needs at the centre of our work and a belief that with the right support we all have the capacity to reach our full potential.
I have experience in counselling in a number of areas, with young people from 11 – 25 yrs, in a school environment, in private practice working with adults and volunteering for Age Concern (now Age UK).
Particular areas of interest are Abuse, Anxiety, Bereavement, Cultural Issues, Depression, Health Related Issues, Identity Problems, Loss, Personal Development, Relationships, Self Esteem, Stress, Trauma, Work-related issues.
